A mold inspection is simply a visual inspection of a structure to determine the possible existence of fungal contamination.
What is Mold
Mold is everywhere in the natural environment. It breaks down dead organic material so the nutrients can be recycled back to the earth. It is also used to aid in the maufacture of some foods and medicine.
Mold needs an organic food source, moisture and the right humidity in order to grow. Some molds can flurish in hot climates and some in extremely cold environments. Moisture is the is the key to mold growth.
Not all types of mold are toxic, on the other hand some types of mold can cause structural damage.
